Better passenger train services for Australia

I reckon it's about time GSR got up off their fat corporate arse and starting running passenger trains that people could actually afford to travel on!

You claim to have written enough letters to GSR so why aren't they doing something? Perhaps because you don't understand the business from their perspective....
I'm apparently a fucktard (whatever that is?). Are you one too? Let me know if you are so we can share some video and speedo bonding nights together with Nomen, George and Bavid

I'm guessing he claims to have the understanding necessary to make a good business case but isn't prepared to use it, rather he's just writing letters 'demanding' something be done.

Is this the real John Coyle though? 8-) Sorry to be doubtful, but I believe that the real person with that name seems to have a reasonable grasp of issues when the odd legit message comes up in aus.rail.

But the newsgroup still has too many flipwits (ie. script-kiddies!) posting useless drivel because they've got it in their head that everyone disagrees with them (hello Andy B!).

When has GSR ever got off their fat arse? They're about as wimpy as the NSW government.

The same argument gets used about heritage railway groups too.

Maybe, but the heritage groups are not the ones that invest in rail infrastructure which actually allows trains to run.

We won't see serious investment in passenger rail outside big cities unless the cost of petrol rises massively and the costs of other fuels stays high as well.
