Mission and Purpose

Unlike another forum-based railway enthusiast site (based in
Melbourne, Australia) which is administered to de-value diversity in
the rail enthusiast community and discourage genuine grass-roots involvement
with railway transport from all walks of life (based on the site
owner's mission statement), we are the opposite. Without bona-fide
grass-roots enthusiasm from rail enthusiasts and railway modellers in
all places where railways exist, the railway enthusiast and modelling
community can't and won't continue to grow and develop.
We will never ban people from using the resources provided by our
website providing that every visitor to our website demonstrates the same
level of courtesy and respect to other people that they would expect other
people to show to them!
We will never bombard you with annoying banner advertising for any
form of commercial and/or pornographic profit-making scam promoted
through cash-for-click style money-grabbing websites, or for other
things which are irrelevant to the core purpose of our website.
We are happy to accept genuine
offers of sponsorship (remember to 'un-poison' the email
address!) and will look at each offer of sponsorship on it's merits.
As we are based in Australia, and are looking to offer support primarily to
the railway enthusiast and railway modelling community in Australia and
New Zealand, any offers of sponsorship emanating from organisations in
these two countries will have a higher priority.
The amount of 'quality vs quantity' in any particular thread or
discussion in any of the forums or with the
material uploaded into the galleries depends
entirely on you as as a contributor - we don't set any moral
standards which you must follow as we want the site to be open and available
to all railway enthusiasts and railway modellers without shutting our
or alienating anyone who is genuinely interested. Otherwise our website
cannot be fair and equitable to as many people as possible.
Our web-based forums are unmoderated and
open to all railway enthusiasts and railway modellers worldwide. If
you have a railway-related website of your own, you are welcome to mention
it to other people and share details about it. We will not censure you
because you want to promote another railway enthusiast website, nor
will we censure you from talking about 'taboo' subjects that are specific to
railways such as derailments, incidents in which persons have been
fatally injured, etc. or even discussions about matters such as
terrorism, security, etc.
In short, RailZone Australia isn't some sort of railway-specific
conservapedia which wants to tell you how to think!

or read on...
RailZone Australia
provides a portal to electronic web-based
forums, mailing-lists, etc. for the discussion of any matter relating
to rail transport and railway modelling. This website also acts as a
disseminator of and sharing resource for data and information via
those forums and also via image galleries and links to other websites which are designed to further
assist railway enthusiasts and railway modellers. Whilst our website is
proudly located in Australia, we aim to support rail enthusiasts and
modellers everywhere regardless of location...
The key purpose of the resources located here at RailZone Australia
are to help you raise and discuss railway-related subject matter
since sharing of skills, experience and information are how we can
all learn more about railways and associated interests.
We may show you links or banners promoting things that are directly relevant
to this aims of this website and which are of interest to the railway
enthusiast and/or railway modelling community at large, but we will
never allow or permit our website to be used for blatant
commercial advertising. Our website is not geared around being dependent
on commercial advertising and sponsorship for it's long-term survival - that
would be completely against the true spirit of the Internet which is for
fair and equal sharing of information to everyone who is
interested.
Our website is not devoted to pushing quality over quantity
(or the other way around) since both need to balance each other out. If we
took a high-brow approach to the railway enthusist and railway
modelling community and started making judgements on moral grounds we would
not create much interest except to make people annoyed and go somewhere else
to share they're skills and experiences.www.railzone.org - forums.railzone.org - galleries.railzone.org
